Jonesport-Beals Advances With Win Over Houlton Christian [BOYS]

The Jonesport-Beals Royals turned relentless defensive pressure into points on their way to a semifinal win over Greater Houlton Christian Academy on Thursday.

The No. 2 Royals forced 22 GHCA turnovers in the contest, which ended with a 66-53 score at the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor.

Kaiden Crowley led the Royals with 18 points. Sophomore Alvin Beal scored 15 points, and junior Ryan Alley had 15.

Schenck Ousts Top-seed Woodland To Advance To North Final [BOYS]

The Schenck Wolverines punched their ticket to Championship Saturday after upsetting the defending regional champion Woodland Dragons Thursday in Bangor.

When the buzzer sounded, the No. 4 Wolverines came away with a 50-44 win over the top-seed Dragons in a tight game at the Cross Insurance Center.

It was revenge for Schenck, who lost to Woodland in the 2018 semifinals. It also removed a monkey from the back of the Wolverines, who failed to get past the semifinals in the past three years.

Travis Thompson led all scorers with 21 points for Schenck. Kaden Hannan had nine points, and Colby Hannan added eight points. >>FULL STORY>>

Deer Isle-Stonington Punches Ticket To North Final [GIRLS]

The Deer-Isle Stonington Mariners came roaring back late in the fourth quarter to overtake the Woodland Dragons and earn themselves a spot in the Class D North final on Saturday.

The No. 2 Mariners were able distance themselves from the No. 3 Dragons in the final minutes to come away with a 51-44 win Thursday night at the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor.

Sophomore Kaylee Morey led the unbeaten Mariners with 18 points. Lillian Gray added 12 points. Brienna Limeburner added eight points, including key free throws in the final minutes. >>FULL STORY>>
