After rain washed out the first round of the Women's Maine State Amateur tournament on Monday, players got on the Waterville course and saw  Leslie Guenther on top of the leaderboard.Guenther shot a 2 over-par 75 which held up and puts her on the lead heading into Wednesday's final round. Two time defending champ Emily Bouchard is tied for third, five shots back with an 80. Bouchard shot even par 73 on Monday but that score was discarded along with the rest when rain postponed the first round. Mary Brandes sits in the second spot two shots behind Guenther.

The final round is Wednesday in Waterville.

The Maine Open was shortened to an 18 hole championship because of rain in Augusta and crowned a champion Tuesday. Andrew Mason from Pennsylvania was one of the last groups to tee off which seem to suit him just fine as he fired an 8 under-par 62 to win the title and $10,000 purse.
