They've been playing basketball at Eastern Kentucky University for 107 seasons and now a kid from Maine, Nick Mayo, is the school's all-time leading scorer. He did it last night vs Big East Conference power Xavier.

Mayo and his Colonels lost the game 95-77 to drop to 6-5.

But at 10:58 of the first half, the former Messalonskee HS standout hit a three-pointer to give him 1,835 career points. That's passed the mark set by Matt Witt in 2006.

Mayo finished with 25 points, six rebounds, two assists and five steals vs Xavier. His career point total is 1,851 through last night.

EKU returns to action next Saturday vs Duquesne. Mayo is on track to become just the 18th players in the Ohio Valley Conference to score 2,000 career points.

Check out some of the EKU past players, including Matt Whitt, send Mayo congrats...
