Longtime Jonesport-Beals basketball coach Ordman Alley on Monday denied past allegations of sexual abuse, calling them "unfounded likes which have kept [him] out of [his] rightful place in the Maine Sports Hall of Fame and the Maine Basketball Hall of Fame.”

Alley's name was taken off the Maine Basketball Hall of Fame list after allegations were presented to the MBOF board from two former students, according to published reports in the Bangor Daily News and other Maine news sources.

Alley issued his denial through a Bangor law firm.

"I dedicated my life to serving children and young adults as a teacher and a coach," Alley said in the statement. "Sexual abuse of any kind is repugnant to me and everything I stand for."

A database search found Alley does not have a criminal record in Maine.
