McDonald’s All Star Weekend Raises Record Amount
This year's Maine McDonald's High School Basketball All Star Weekend raised a record amount for charity - $62,867.
The banquet and all star games were held in Bangor back on March 9th and 10th. This was the 38th year for the high school hoops showcase for Maine's best senior players, coordinated by the Maine Basketball Coaches Association.
Net proceeds go to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Maine.
“The incredible dedication of our Maine McDonald’s owner/operators and the Maine Association of Basketball Coaches in recognizing the talents of senior high school basketball stars in our state each year, and their generosity in supporting our mission of keeping families close is beyond compare,” said RMHC Maine Executive Director Robin Chibroski. “We are truly grateful to be in partnership with such caring hearts.” - RMHS Press Release
The previous record for money raised was the 2017 event when $48,000 was raised for charity.
The Ronald McDonald House in Bangor and Portland are the cornstones for RMHC Maine but more than $3 million dollars has also been granted to non-profits around the state.
