The Maine Central Institute Huskies are still basking in that Class D State Championship win last November, but that doesn't mean they aren't motivated to win another in 2017.

The Huskies have been one of the teams to beat in the LTC for the past three seasons, including besting Lisbon in that aforementioned state title game last Fall on a last second touchdown.  In 2017 however, the Huskies will have more obstacles than normal to repeat their success.

MCI lost 11 players from the title team last year, but also have the task of being relocated to Class C from Class D in the latest shake-up.  New rivalry will be crafted over the years to come, but for now it's all relatively new for MCI heading into another season.

Hear the thoughts of Head Coach Tom Bertrand, and players Adam Bertrand and David Young about winning a title last season and prepping for the tough task of the Class C ranks in the video above.

MCI will start the season on Friday night facing Oceanside on the road at 7 p.m.
