MDI Boys Baseball Sweeps Presque Isle

The MDI Boy's Baseball team improved to 3-0 on the season as they swept Presque Isle in Bar Harbor by the scores of 3-0 and 3-2. Presque Isle is now 1-3. MDI's next game is Tuesday April 23 when they are home to Washington Academy. who are 2-1 on the season. Presque Isle's next game is at Class C Houlton on Tuesday, April 23rd.

In the fist game Steven Hanscom pitched a 2 hitter, striking out 5 and allowing no walks Jon Phelps lead off the 1st inning and scored on a fielders choice. Keegan McKim hit a double in the 3rd inning and scored on Ben Walls triple. Ben Walls later scored on Adam Gray's single.

Presque Isle was limited to two singles, coming in the 4th and 5th innings.

In the second game of the doubleheader, Tom Paola pitched 5 innings for MDI giving up 2 runs. Jon Phelps picked up the win with 2 innings of relief. Keegan Mckim had a 1st inning double and scored on Paola's single. Ben Walls scored Paola with a RBI single. Presque Isle came back with 2 runs in top of 6th. In the bottom of the 6th inning Adam Gray lead off with single. Jack Sasner pinch ran for Gray and advanced to 2nd base on a failed pick off attempt. Trevor Alley then hit a pinch hit single to score Sasner for the go ahead run.
