It's a new look for the New England Football Conference and NEFC member Maine Maritime Academy. The league lost half of its teams at the conclusion of last season when most of the Massachusetts schools formed a new conference.

That new league is called the Massachusetts State College Athletic Conference.

That leaves schools such Curry, WNE, MMA, Endicott, MIT, Salve Regina, Nichols and US Coast Guard Academy to make up the NEFC.

MMA in Castine is picked to finish 7th in the pre-season coaches poll. The Mariners suffered through an 0-9 season last year. Head coach Chris McKenney is in his 13th year and is the school's winningest coach.

The Mariners open the season at home this Saturday against Anna Maria College.

The Poll:

1.            Endicott College                             59 points  (4)

2.            Salve Regina University                 53 points  (3)

3.            Curry College & WNE                   43 points

5.            MIT                                                34 points  (1)

6.            U.S. Coast Guard Academy         28 points

7.            MMA & Nichols                             14 points
