Tough day at the ballpark for the Husson Eagles baseball team. New England College swept a conference doubleheader 5-0 and 17-12.The Eagles managed just two hits against NEC pitcher Vincent Beckert.

Husson's Ben Walls gave up all five runs going the distance for the Eagles.

NEC pounded its way to a sweep, winning game two 17-12. The Pilgrims collected a dozen hits off four Eagles pitchers.

Husson actually outhit NEC with 15 hits. Logan Rogerson had four while Sam Huston had three hits.

The Eagles fall to 13-12 overall and 7-5 in NAC play.

The Pilgrims are 12-12  and 5-5.

Another doubleheader scheduled for Saturday in New Hampshire.

Meanwhile, the Husson softball team extends its winning streak to six games with a conference sweep of Thomas College 4-3 and 10-0.

Briana Brochu singled home the winning run in extra innings to win the first game. Brochu had three hits and Olivia Smith had three hits.

In game two, the Eagles pounded out 10 runs in five innings while pitcher Jen Jones was shutting down Thomas.

The sweep puts Husson at 18-8 overall, 4-0 in the NAC.

Thomas is 3-13 and 0-2.
