The University of Maine has selected the person to lead their Athletic Department with the naming of Karlton Creech as Athletic Director.

Creech is currently the Senior Associate AD at North Carolina University overseeing capital projects, facilities and human resources. He has been with the school since 2004. Prior to that, he worked at North Carolina State where he was involved with ticket sales and fundraising.

In a release issued by UMaine, President Paul Ferguson said "I am pleased that Karlton will be joining the UMaine leadership team. He brings to us a remarkable record of athletics leadership and management at the University of North Carolina, one of our nation's great public research universities. His level of professionalism, coupled with his strong experience in fundraising and management, will no doubt move Black Bear Athletics to ne levels of excellence and community engagement."

The 41 year old Creech will assume his duties effective February 10.
