Old Town’s Hoogterp Named Athlete Of The Week

Sports Radio 92.9 The Ticket Listeners have voted Eric Hoogterp from the Old Town basketball team the McDonald's Athlete of the Week.A member of the defending class B state champs, Hoogterp helped the Coyotes improve to 7-0 with a couple wins last week. He scored 16 points including key foul shots in the final seconds to hold off Orono in their closest game of the season. Hoogterp followed that up with a 21 point performance against Foxcroft Academy, a game in which his stellar defense led to many of his baskets.

Hoogterp beat out Jake Dexter of the Messalonskee hockey team who had 6 goals and 2 assists helping the Eagles win a pair of games.
