Patriots Cut Tim Tebow

The Patriots have cut QB Tim Tebow and one of the reasons why just might be the fact the Pats plan to keep injured tight end Rob Gronkowski on the active list. Tebow must go through the waiver process now and if he clears he becomes a free agent.

Other well known players cut by the Patriots include punter Zoltan Mesko and DE Jermaine Cunningham and rookie WR Quentin Sims.

The release of Tebow means the team is likely to go with just two quarterback - Tom Brady and Ryan Mallett.

The Pats and all NFL teams must get to a 53-man roster today.
