Pats Pick Connolly First Time Captain

The New England Patriots have turned to offensive lineman Dan Connolly for a team captain spot now that Logan Mankins is a Tampa Bay Buc. Connolly is the only first timer among the six captains selected.

Tom Brady, Vince Wilfork, Jerod Mayo, Matthew Slater and Devin McCourty are all repeat captains from last season.

Connolly is now the most veteran member of the Patriots offensive line.

Captains are voted on by fellow players.
