Pats To Start Jimmy G Vs NY Giants

ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter is reporting that Jimmy Garoppolo will start Thursday night's preseason game against the New York Giants. And, he may play the majority of the game.

It is certain to fuel more speculation on the future of QB Ryan Mallett - could he be traded if the Patriots decide to keep just two quarterbacks?

Garoppolo has completed 24 of 37 passes for 334 yards in preseason. He has four TDs and no interceptions.

The Pats have to cut 9 more players to get down to the 75 man roster by 4pm Tuesday.
