Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett returned to Boston for the first time in the regular season since their trade to the Net and beat the Celtics 85-79.Pierce and Garnett received several standing ovations before, during, and after the game. The Celtics honored them with video tributes in the first half that showcased highlights of their years with the team including moments from the championship season.

They finished the game with six points each and combined for seven rebounds. Brandon Bass led the Celtics with 17 points in the loss. Boston returns to the court Tuesday when they play the Knicks in New York.

After the game Pierce and Garnett spoke about the welcome they received from the fans.
