Playoff Time: All You Need To Know
The MCI Huskies, the Foxcroft Ponies, the Skowhegan Indians and the Portland Bulldogs begin the high school football postseason as #1 seeds. The question is how many of them can avoid upset and play on championship Saturday next month.
In Class C North, MCI is a two-time defending state champ (1 in Class D, 1 in Class C). Tucker Sharples and Seth Bussell headline a power running attack. But talented players like Garrett Trask, Ben Dorval, Andrew Haining, Jack Thompson and Dylan Abbott are in the field of playoff teams.
#1 MCI hosts #8 Belfast and #2 Hermon hosts #7 Oceanside (at Hampden( tonight) tonight.
#3 Winslow will host #6 Waterville and #4 Nokomis will host #5 Medomak Valley Saturday
In Class D North LTC, the Foxcorft Ponies and Bucksport Golden Bucks are the top two seeds and will get byes this week.
#3 Mattanawcook Academy hosts #6 Mt. View tonight while #4 Dexter will host #5 Washington Academy Saturday afternoon.
