Drew Pomeranz pitched seven great innings and Pablo Sandoval returned to the lineup with three hits as the Red Sox beat the White Sox 4-1. Boston takes two of the three games in the series.

Pomeranz looked very strong, striking out eight while not allowing a walk in seven innings of work. He gave up just one run on seven hits. He threw 108 pitches in those seven innings.

Meanwhile, Pablo Sandoval was the DH is his return from the disabled list. He had three hits and knocked in the game winning run.

The Red Sox finish the month of May with a 16-12 record. They trail New York by two games with their 29-23 overall record. A four game series in Baltimore is next
