Preview: LTC Championship

They have combined to post a record of 18-1 on the season and when Bucksport and Mattanawcook Academy meet for the LTC championship a trip to the state title game is on the line.Bucksport enters as the number one seed with a 9-0 record after escaping with a 17-14 win over Orono in the semifinals. The Golden Bucks are led on offense by quarterback Matthew Stewart who has thrown for over 1,000 yards. Linebackers Nic Bishop and K.P. Hilaire anchor a defense that has allowed only 13 points per game.

Mattanawcook is looking for their first LTC title since 1999 when they went on to win the only state championship in school history. The Lynx have a quarterfinal win over Washington Academy and knocked off #2 seed MCI 34-6 in the semifinals.Trysten Pelkey leads an offense that has averaged 35 points per game this season.
