The Bangor Rams jumped out to a quick 4-0 lead over Brewer in the first inning and went on to beat the Witches 7-3.

Four of the first five hitters for the Rams scored in that first inning before Brewer junior pitcher Alex Brooks settled in.

The Witches came back with two runs of their own in the bottom of the first.

Then it kind of settled into a pitcher's duel with Brooks and Bangor's Nick Cowperthwaite.

It was a 5-2 score when Brewer had its best chance. A couple of baserunning miscues cost the Witches and they scored just one run.

Bangor added two insurance runs in the sixth.

Derek Fournier had three hits to lead the Rams. Kyle Stevenson, Trevor DeLaite, Nick Cowperthwaite and Jesse Colford all had two hits.

Brewer was led by Alex Maxsimic with two hits.

The Rams improve to 3-0. The Witches are 0-3.
