Reports: Wilfork Asks For Release

Contract talks have never been easy between the New England Patriots and Vince Wilfork. That has not changed as multiple reports say that Wilfork has asked the team for his release.The request comes as the team has asked him to restructure his contract to create more room under the salary cap, a move that would create flexibility to sign free agents and this years draft picks. The 32 year old is coming off a torn achilles tendon which sidelined him for most of the season and is scheduled to make $8 million dollars in this, the final year of a 5-year $40 million dollar contract.
