Just as the Boston Celtics are to start training camp, they have lost their one superstar to a broken hand. The team announced that Rajon Rondo suffered the injury after falling in the shower at his home Thursday night. On Friday he underwent surgery to repair the break by team physician Dr. Brian McKeon. While the procedure was successful, Rondo will miss 6 to 8 weeks while it heals.

Rondo missed all but 30 games last season while coming back from knee surgery. The team will not speak publicly about the injury until Monday when Rondo, Coach Brad Stevens, and GM Danny Ainge talk at training camp media day.
