Six Sox Heading To 2016 All-Star Game [VIDEO]

Six Boston Red Sox players will be heading to San Diego next week to participate in the All-Star Game after the starting line-ups and reserves were announced on Tuesday night.

David Ortiz, Xander Bogaerts, Jackie Bradley Jr, and Mookie Betts will all be in the starting line-up in their respective positions, while Craig Kimbrel and Steven Wright also were picked as pitchers for the event.

The game will be held on July 12^th, the day after the Home Run Derby , from Petco Park in San Diego.  The park is the home of the Padres who will be the team host of the event.

There will be two more players selected to the All-Star rosters via the fan vote which is available at MLB.com.  Those players include second baseman Dustin Pedroia in the American League, going against Ian Kinsler, Evan Longoria, George Springer, and Michael Saunders.  The five up for vote in the National League include Brandon Belt, Ryan Braun, Jake Lamb, Starling Marte, and Trevor Story.  Fans can vote for their favorite online until 4 p.m. on Friday.
