The Husson Eagles remain unbeaten in the ECFC as freshman John Smith rushed for another 189 yards and 3 touchdowns in a 42-20 win over Anna Maria College.

The Eagles are now 6-1 overall, 5-0 in the ECFC and continue to hold down the conference #1 spot. It is the best start in Husson program history.

But on this Saturday, Husson needed a second half comeback...and what a comeback.

Trailing 14-7, the Eagles put up 35 second half points and ended up running away from the Amcats(0-8).

Smith ran for three touchdowns in the comeback. QB Joe Seccareccia threw two TDs. Shabashe McIntosh ran for the other score.

In total, Smith ran 28 times for 189 yards. The freshman from Georgia now has 776 yards and 10 TDs in 5 games since being inserted as the lead runner.

The Eagles totaled 392 yards of offense and held the Amcats to 199.

Linebacker Ellis Throckmorton led the defense with 11 tackles.

Husson goes on the road to Becker College next Saturday.
