Police in Southern Maine are investigating a fatal stabbing at Shaw's Supermarket. Police say there's no indication the two women knew each other.

Public Safety spokesman Steve McCausland says 31-year-old Connor MacCalister stabbed 59-year-old Wendy Boudreau near the ice cream freezers inside Shaw's Supermarket just before 3 o'clock Wednesday afternoon. Two local EMT's were in the store at the time and immediately started giving Boudreau medical assistance. Despite their efforts, she died later at Southern Maine Medical Center.

Police say, although both women were from Saco, there's no indication that they knew each other. Now, investigators are working to determine the motive behind the attack.

MacCalister is charged with murder and was taken to the York County Jail. Her first court appearance is likely to be Thursday or Friday.
