BREAKING NEWS:  David Ortiz will not be in the starting lineup tonight in game four against the Yankees. Just a night off says manager John Farrell. Ortiz was at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro earlier in the day as the Patriots wanted to recognize him as his last season winds down...

The Red Sox beat the Yankees for a third straight day and this time the 6-5 victory had the winning run come home on a wild pitch.

It happened in the 7th inning with Mookie Betts at third base and Hanley Ramirez at second. A pitch to Sandy Leon skipped past Yankee catcher Austin Romine. Betts score the go-ahead run and Ramirez was tagged out at home trying to get an insurance run.

It was also another come-from-behind win for the Sox. David Price left the game after six innings and giving up five runs.

But, Robbie Ross Jr., Matt Barnes and Craig Kimbrel shut the door for three innings.

Xander Bogaerts had three hits, including his 20th home run. Hanley Ramirez continued red hot with three more hits.

The record is 84-64 with 14 games to play. The lead in two games in the AL East, pending what Baltimore and Toronto do when they play Saturday night.
