A 911 caller informed Waterville Regional Communications Center of a stabbing at the Halifax Park off of Halifax Street just before 9 PM Monday. Winslow Police Officers were immediately dispatch to the area. Upon arrival they located several individuals, including a 17-year-old male juvenile that had been stabbed in the chest.

Winslow Rescue and Delta Ambulance were also dispatched to the scene, where they immediately transported the stabbing victim to Thayer Hospital. Due to the severity of his injures, the victim was later transported to Maine General in Augusta. He's listed in stable condition after undergoing surgery Monday evening.

After interviewing witnesses at the scene, another 17-year-old juvenile suspect was identified. Because the suspect fled the scene and resources were limited, Winslow Police Officers requested the assistance of Waterville PD to secure the scene and assist in locating the suspect. Also a Maine State Police K-9 Unit was used.

About an hour after the 911 call came in, the 17-year-old suspect was located at 23 Halifax Street in Winslow and taken into custody without incident by Winslow and Waterville Police Officers.

The suspect was transported to Charleston Juvenile Corrections Center and is being charged with elevated aggravated assault Class A and probation hold.

The investigation continues but due to all the individuals involved being juveniles, no names will be released.
