Tough Opener For Lester [VIDEO]

John Lester's Chicago Cubs debut was less than spectacular. He couldn't get through five innings and the St. Louis Cardinals beat the Cubbies 3-0 in the MLB opener Sunday night.

Cards pitcher Adam Wainwright outdueled Lester, pitching six shutout innings.

For Lester, his linescore read 4.2 innings, 3 runs, 8 hits, 6 K's, 2 BB. He threw 89 pitches, only 57 for strikes.

Jason Heyward led St. Louis with three hits. The Cubbies had a total of five hits.
