New UMaine hockey coach Red Gendron welcomes Black Bear players from the past during alumni weekend on Saturday and Sunday in Orono. The event includes a special salute to the 1988 team (the first UM team to play in a Frozen Four) and the 1993 team (first National Championship team).

The weekend includes a barbeque in the Alfond parking lot area Saturday evening from 5PM-8PM. The alumni hockey game is Sunday morning at 10AM.

It is expected that players from the start of the program back in 1977, including coach Jack Semler, all the way through last year will be on campus for the weekend event.
