UM Women Beat NDSU 64-59

The UMaine women's basketball team scored an opening night win over North Dakota State 64-59 at the Cross Center in Bangor. Ashleigh Roberts had 18 points and 8 rebounds, Liz Wood had a double-double (12 points, 13 rebounds) to lead the Black Bears.

Maine got behind by double digits early in the game but battled back to trail by just three at the half 37-34.

The Bears cut their turnovers down to just five in the second half. The Bison shot poorly in the second half- 19%.

Maine hit free throws down the stretch to preserve the win on opening night. NDSU is 1-1.

Attendance at the Cross Center was 1,393.
