It's just one weekend into the season but it has also been a while since UMaine hockey got votes in the national poll. The USCHO poll has the Black Bears #27 after sweeping RPI over the weekend.

Maine received 27 votes.

The next opponent, Quinnipiac is ranked #3 this week. The Bobcats come to the Alfond for games Friday and Saturday nights.

North Dakota sits #1 in the nation and there are six Hockey East teams ranked in the top 20.

NOTE: UMaine's Mitchell Fossier has been named Hockey East Rookie of the Week. He scored a hat trick Friday night and then scored the game winning goal Saturday ngiht.
