UMaine Hockey Swept In Alaska
The University of Maine hockey team will return from their first road trip without a win after losing to Alaska Fairbanks 5-2 Saturday night.A night after losing their season opener, Blaine Byron got the bears on the board almost 10 minutes into the game to take the early 1-0 lead. That seemed to ignite the Nanooks who would score the next 4 goals with 2 in the first period and 2 more in the third. Devin Shore got the other UMaine goal with three minutes to play before Alaska Fairbanks added an empty netter.
The Bears will return home with their 0-2 record and find some answers as the defending national champions from Union College roll into Alfond Arena for games on Friday and Saturday nights.
