The UMaine men's basketball team lost a heartbreaker to the Fordham Rams in New York Saturday afternoon. A 67-66 overtime loss to drop to 1-7 on the season.

This one was close for most of the day. Nine lead changes and nine ties.

Down to the final minutes of regulation, Maine's Ilker Er nailed a three-pointer to tie the game at 60-60 and force overtime.

In the extra five minutes, Fordham scored the first four points. And then with just seconds left, Joe Chartouney made two free throws to give the Rams a four point lead.

An Maine long three-pointer at the buzzer was good but the Black Bears wound up a point short.

Aaron Calixte had 20 points to lead Maine. Andrew Fleming had 16 points and 13 rebounds.

The Bears return home to play at the Cross Center for their next three games.
