With snow surrounding Mahaney Diamond the UMaine baseball team opened the home portion of their schedule with a split of their double-header with Albany.In game one the Bears scored three runs in the bottom of the 7th inning and held on to get the 4-3 win. Scott Heath, Brett Chappell and Brenden Geary each drove in a run in the inning.

Former Bangor pitcher Justin Courtney got the win in relief while Charlie Butler closed out the game for his 4th save.

Maine dropped game two 9-5 in 10 innings when the Great Danes exploded for 4 runs in the 10th off Butler. The Bears are now 9-15 overall and 1-2 in America Eat play. The third game of the series scheduled for Monday has been canceled because of rain in the forecast.

Husson University concluded a productive weekend in which they won 6 games in three days after sweeping Colby-Sawyer Sunday afternoon at the Winkin Complex.

The Eagles took the first game 6-1 and the second game 6-0. Husson outscored the Chargers in the four game weekend sweep 27-2.Husson gets its record over the .500 mark at 8-7 while improving to 6-0 in the North Atlantic Conference.
