The University of Maine's attempt to sweep Alaska Anchorage came up short as the Bears ad Seawolves ended in a 3-3 tie at Alfond Arena. With the game tied at two early in the 3rd period, Blaine Byron broke in shorthanded off a feed from Cam Brown to score the go ahead goal. The lead would be short lived as Alaska's Scott Allen tied the game back up just 30 seconds later for the final goal of the game.

Special teams played a big role in this game as both teams scored on the powerplay and shorthanded.Maine was just 2 for 8 on the powerplay as the Seawolves were caleed for 10 penalties on the night.

UMaine goalie Matt Morris stopped 22 shots including a big one with just 35 seconds remaining in regulation to preserve the tie.

The Bears will be at home again next week as the UMass Minutemen come to Alfond for a weekend series.
