BANGOR, Maine --  Sports Radio 92.9 The Ticket is bringing its listeners on a weekly outdoor adventure beginning this Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013.   Bob Duchesne will return to the airwaves each Saturday morning from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. to host “Bob Duchesne’s Wild Maine.”

Townsquare Media General Manager Tom Preble said he is excited to add Bob Duchesne’s Wild Maine to the line-up.

“There’s so much to see and do in the State of Maine and Bob knows just how to bring it to the airwaves in an interesting and informative way, anyone who loves to get out and enjoy Maine will love this show,” Preble said.

Beginning in 1986, Bob became a familiar voice to radio listeners across eastern and central Maine. His morning show was top-rated for most of 17 years.

Bob became interested in birds in the first grade. Interest grew to passion and today Bob is one of Maine’s top birding experts. He serves on the Maine Audubon Board of Trustees and is Vice President of Audubon’s Penobscot Valley Chapter in the Bangor area. Bob is a frequent field trip leader and has led trips from Atlantic Canada to the Florida Everglades.

In 2009, Bob completed development of the Maine Birding Trail and has authored a guidebook for the state, published on Down East Books. He currently writes a weekly birding column for the Bangor Daily News.

Bob recently finished four terms as a member of the Maine House of Representatives, where he served on the Environment and Natural Resources Committee and helped to direct state environmental policy.

The debut of Wild Maine will feature several segments, including one on the Snow Volcano that's lit as part of Bethel's WinterFest.

Here's some video from last year's snow volcano. Be sure to tune in or listen live online starting at 9 a.m.
