32 Top Amateurs: This Time Match Play
The 2013 MSGA Match Play Championship is down to the top eight golfers and Ricky Jones is one of them. He's already won the '13 Bunyan Amateur and the Maine State Amateur titles and is trying to add a third championship this summer.
The field of 32 played head to head golf in a morning round. The 16 winners squared off again in the afternoon. Jones bested Rocco Spizuoco 4 and 3. He then beat Craig Chipman 3 and 1.
Jones will meet Joe Alvarez from PVCC in tomorrow's round of 8 quarter-finals.
The semi-final round will be played in the afternoon and the championship meet takes place Thursday morning. Fox Ridge GC in Auburn is hosting the Match Play Tournament.
