AE: UAlbany Beats UMaine For Title [VIDEO]

The UMaine Black Bears and the UAlbany Great Danes met Sunday afternoon in sunny Stanford, California to decide the America East Field Hockey Championship.

The Great Danes scored twice in the first 32 minutes and made it hold up and Albany beat the Bears 2-0.

In the sport of field hockey, America East is broken into an East Division and a West Division with the playoffs switching coasts for hosting the playoffs.

Both Maine and Albany beat two California teams to make it to the final.

The Bears and Danes split two regular season games.

UAlbany is now 16-4. UMaine is 16-5.

NOTE: UAlbany gets the automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. There are eight at-large bids and UMaine stands a good chance of getting one as the Black Bears have been nationally all season. The selection show is tonight at 10pm.
