The Bangor High School baseball team began defense of its class A state championship by winning a pitchers duel over Hampden 1-0 at the Winkin Complex.The only run of the game came in the third inning when the number nine hitter Kyle Stevenson singled with one out in the inning. Stevenson then stole second and moved up to third on a wild pitch. Jordan Derrah would drive Stevenson in with a sacrifice fly to centerfield.

Peter Kemble got the start and win for the Rams pitching the first five innings. The sophomore allowed just one hit and struck out 4. Trevor Delaite went the last two innings and struck out 5 of the 6 batters he faced.

Tommy Farrar was the tough luck loser allowing the one run on just 3 hits over 5.1 innings of work.
