The Boston Bruins opened the preseason schedule in Montreal where a goal in the final minute resulted in a 3-2 loss to the Canadiens.Montreal generated a goal in each period with Christian Thomas scoring the game tying goal in the second period, and setting up the game winner by Dryson Bowman with just 48 seconds to play. The Bruins jumped put to a 2-0 lead in the first period on goals by Ryan Spooner and Matt Fraser. Unfortunately for Boston that would be the end of their goal scoring in the game.

Malcolm Subban got the start in net for Boston and stopped 9 of the 10 shots he faced. Niklas Svedberg played the final two periods and allowed 2 goals on 18 shots.

The Bruins will play the Capitals tonight at the Garden.
