Broncos To Play At Home…Finally

One of the subplots to tonight's Hampden vs Lawrence boys basketball matchup might be what happened the last time they met...in the Eastern Maine title game last season.

Remember that one? Lawrence missed foul shots with 4-seconds to go, Hampden got the rebound and sent the pass down court. Nick Gilpin fired in a 3-pointer at the buzzer to send the Broncos to the state championship.

Several of the players from both teams have graduated and Lawrence coach Mike McGee has retired but perhaps it will be a rallying cry for the Bulldogs tonight. The Dogs lost their first game of the year last night, losing to Oxford Hills 56-36.

Hampden will be ready for anything. The 3-0 Broncos are just happy to play at home. Tonight marks their first home game.
