B’s Vs Wings: Nyquist In Howard Out

When the Boston Bruins face the Detroit Red Wings tonight at "The Joe" in Detroit they won't be shooting pucks at former UMaine goalie Jimmy Howard.. Backup goalie Jonas Gustavsson will be in net for the Wings. Another former Black Bear, Gustav Nyquist will play against the B's.

The Howard story is interesting. He has not won a game since November 1st and has struggled a bit. His numbers for the season: 5-7-6 with a 2.72 GAA.

Gustavsson has played better lately and Detroit is riding the hot hand.

Injuries have hit the Wings hard. In fact, star center Pavel Datsyuk won't play because of concussion issues and his linemate Todd Bertuzzi is out with an injury.

As for the Bruins, they enter the Thanksgiving Eve game with a 16-6-2 record without playing their best hockey. Defensemen Dennis Seidenberg and Adam McQuaid  are with the team in Detroit and could play as they work their way coming back from injuries.
