Just a few months after trading John Lester to Oakland, the Boston Red Sox are seemingly in the process of putting on a full court press to bring him back.Sox General Manger Ben Cherington confirmed that he met with Lester's agents Tuesday night but did not discuss numbers. Many believe it will take 6-years and around $120-130 million dollars to get him to sign on the dotted line. WEEI says a Major League sources indicates that 6 teams are in the running to try and sign the lefty. Meanwhile Lester's agents said Wednesday they are trying to arrange a face-to-face meeting between themselves, Lester and Sox ownership before the end of the week. Some speculate that this could lead to a quick signing if in fact the Sox are serious about bringing him back.

Ken Rosenthal is reporting that the race to acquire third baseman Pablo Sandoval is down to the Red Sox and Giants. Rosenthal indicates the Sox would have to make "a big play" to take him away from the giants. He also noted the Sox are exploring other options such as Hanley Ramirez to fill the hot corner.
