Comrades, Falcons Score Legion Wins

The Bangor Comrades(17-2) and the Brewer Falcons(14-5) both scored 11-2 wins in the opening round of the American Legion Zone 1 baseball tournament. They meet tonight at 7pm.

Bangor's win came over Motor City. Justin Courtney struck out 14 hitters and gave up just three hits in eight innings of work.

Kyle Stevenson, Sam Huston and Ryan Brookings all had three hits to lead the offense. Huston and Brookings hit inside-the-park home runs - both came in the seventh inning.

Brewer's 11-2 win came against Trenton. Jeff Weeks, Brendan Moore each had four hits for the Falcons. Matt Pushard had a triple, Kyle Alexander had a triple and was the winnings pitcher.
