Eddies Down Rams In Season Finale

Basketball is often described as a game of runs and the team that has the last run usually wins. That exactly what happened on Thursday night when Edward Little stopped Bangor 58-53 in the Class AA North regular season finale.

The Rams had taken an eight point lead in the fourth quarter only to have the Red Eddies come back and get the final run.

Grace Fontaine led EL with 22 points, nine of them in the final quarter.

Libby Fleming finished with 17 points to lead Bangor.

The Rams finish the regular season as the #3 seed with an 11-8 record.

Edward Little finishes at #5 with a 10-8 record.

The quarterfinal round of Class AA North begins at the higher seed home court. Bangor will get a chance to host and it looks like the opponent will be #6 Cheverus.

NOTE: The Bangor boys team lost its regular season finale at Edward Little, 69-56, to finish at 16-2. The Rams hold the #1 seed in Class AA North and will host #8 seed Lewiston.
