Ellsworth Girls Beat Old Town 57-46

The Ellsworth Eagles improved to 5-3 on the season with a 57-46 victory over the Old Town Coyotes on Wednesday, January 2nd in a game played in Ellsworth. Old Town falls to 4-3 on the season. With the victory the Ellsworth Eagles split the season series with Old Town, as they lost in Old Town, in the opening game of the season back on December 7th 48-31.

Ellsworth trailed after the 1st Quarter 15-11, but at the half, they led 27-24. After 3 Quarters it was tied at 37 but Ellsworth outscored Old Town 20-9 in the 4th Quarter to secure the win. Ellsworth was 14-25 from the free throw line, while Old Town went 12-20. Ellsworth was paced by Morgan Card with 21 points, going 10-16 from the field and Emily Berry with 16 points 4-8 from the field and 8-13 from the free throw line.

With the victory, Ellsworth has won more victories in 2012-2013 then they have in the last three years combined. Up next for the Lady Eagles is a game against John Bapst in Ellsworth on Saturday, January 5th and then a trip to Washington Academy on Tuesday January 8th in a game that will be heard on AM 1370 WDEA and WDEA Internet Radio
