The Foxcroft Academy Ponies wrapped up the regular season with a 40-0 victory over Mattanawcook Academy on Friday night.

The Ponies were led by senior QB Nick Clawson who ran for 157 yards and three touchdowns, while also connecting with receiver Jeremy Richard for a passing score as well.  On the evening Clawson was 5-9 passing for 90 yards and gave up an interception.

Foxcroft started off the scoring in the first quarter with an opening drive touchdown, finished by a 12-yard TD by Clawson.  The Ponies would score twice more before the halftime break, both by the way of QB rushes to make it 20-0 after two quarters.  Foxcroft would continue to score in the second half of play as Clawson would connect with Richard for a score, while Michaleb Niles and Sekton Wandikbo would add on rushing TDs.

The Ponies would pick off Lynx QB Dominic Libbey three times in the game, twice by Hyatt Smith, and would also force one fumble in the contest.  Libbey rushed for 34 yards on eight carries and completed just 2-7 passing.  Matt Young led the offense with 92 yards on 22 carries for the Lynx.

With the win, Foxcroft moves to 6-2 on the season and likely will secure the top spot in the LTC.  Mattanawcook drops to 5-3 and should finish in third place heading into the playoffs next week.
