Heath, Courtney Get Weekly Awards

The University of Maine baseball team cleaned up the weekly conference awards after a double-header split over the weekend.Senior Scott Heath is the America East Player of the Week after a monster week at the plate helping the Bears earn 3 wins. In four games Heath had 11 hits including 4 homeruns, 8 rbi and scored 8 runs. On the mound Heath pitched a complete game 8-hitter with a career high 11 strikeouts in Saturday's win over New York Institute of Technology.

Freshman pitcher Justin Courtney was named the Rookie of the Week after going the distance in the Bears win over NYIT in the series opener. Courtney allowed just 8 hits while striking out 5 for his third win of the season.

This is the second time Heath and Courtney have won the awards as they both took home the awards back on week 1.
