Pittsburgh Pirates v Boston Red Sox Red Sox shortstop Stephen Drew has left spring training camp as he continues to feel the effects of a concussion. Drew will spend a couple days at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Centers Sports Medicine Concussion Program. Hermon native Micky Collins heads up that program and is considered one of the world's leading experts in sports concussions. Over the years he has treated athletes such as Sidney Crosby, Brian Roberts, Dale Earnhardt Jr., and Marc Savard.

Drew suffered the concussion when he was hit in the helmet by a pitch and will now likely not be on the opening day roster.

On Wednesday the Sox lost to the Yankees in Grapefruit League play 4-0. Felix Doubront allowed all four runs in the second inning while Boston only managed four hits off Yankee pitching.
