It's first scrimmage time in high school football. The MPA has a specific set of training rules for football in the first two weeks, starting with a couple of days of helmets and cleats only. Then it's a couple of days with shoulder pads, followed by a couple of days of full contact.

Today is the first time teams can participate in interschool contests. Many teams will run controlled scrimmages today and then compete in exhibition games on Friday or Saturday.
