In a game that featured two teams with wide open offenses, it was a big play on defense that gave the Hampden Broncos a 32-26 win over the Skowhegan Indians.

The Broncos Dan Marquis picked off Adam Clukey and returned it 42 yards with just 28 seconds to play for the go-ahead touchdown. Skowhegan still managed to drive the field with a chance to win but Clukey's pass to the end zone fell incomplete as time expired.

Quarterback Matt Martin led the Bronco offense going 17-28 for 222 yards and 4 touchdowns. He also rushed for 118 yards. Austin Spencer caught 7 passes for 91 yards and a score while Marquis has 2 touchdown receptions to go with his pick 6.

Both teams are now 2-1 on the season. Hampden travels to Gardiner next Friday while the Indians are on the road at Brunswick.
